Johnny Extreme vs. Dano: First Blood Cage Match by Order of the Board.
Winner: Johnny Extreme
With WCW President Pepper Davis and "The Working Man" JA Sawyer at ringside, Johnny defeated Dano in a brutal battle inside the cage. Dano's suicide dive from the top of the cage did more harm than good; causing Dano to bleed openly and lose. It was later revealed that Johnny too was bleeding, but internally, which he consealed and then later spit at a camera man.

Johnny Extreme vs. Doomsayer vs. Vespertine: Number 1 Contender Match for the World Heavyweight Title
Stipulation: Special guest Referee WCW President Pepper Davis
Winner: Vespertine
Due to Doomsayer's pre-match withdrawal, this match became a one on one contest. Things got sour when Johnny drew a knife on Vespertine and Pepper, showing his real intentions on the evening. After a distraction by Pepper and a quick count, Vespertine was able to sneak out a quick victory.
